Fortunate SLJFC players had the privilege of being selected as mascots for the Hastings United vs Bognor Regis Town match on Saturday, September 16th. The young stars relished the experience of walking onto the pitch alongside the players and later enjoyed a delightful meal and refreshments in the VIP Hospitality Area.
Although Hastings United didn't secure a victory, the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved, creating lasting memories for the young participants and fostering a sense of camaraderie within the SLJFC community.
The SLJFC Awards Presentation Evening for the 2022/23 season was an exceptional and memorable event, held at The Phoenix Theatre within Ark Alexandra School. The occasion was graced by the presence of over 300 enthusiastic attendees, making it a truly remarkable evening.
Notably, the evening took place during an unusually warm September, creating a fantastic backdrop for the celebration as attendees basked in the late summer warmth.
A standout feature of the evening was the brilliant Tombola organized by the dedicated and exceptional Lauren Gibson. The Tombola not only added an element of fun to the event but also managed to raise a substantial amount of funds for the club, highlighting the collective commitment to the SLJFC's success.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Thomas Mende Award for Clubperson of the Year. The 2021/22 recipient, Lewis Baker, graciously received his trophy and, in a heartwarming moment, passed it on to Aaron Wenham-Keeley, the deserving winner for the 2022/23 season. This award celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to the club, reflecting the spirit of teamwork and dedication.
The players were not forgotten during this special evening. Awards were presented to recognise outstanding achievements throughout the season. These awards included Top Goalscorer of the Season, Best Goalkeeper of the Season, Supporter's Player of the Season, Most Improved Player of the Season, Coach's Player of the Season, and Player's Player of the Season. These accolades celebrated the talent and dedication of the players and their vital roles within the club.
The coaches, who play an integral part in nurturing talent and fostering teamwork, were also honored during the evening. They received a commemorative book highlighting the previous season, meticulously compiled by Jodie Jones. Additionally, the coaches were presented with thoughtful gifts as tokens of appreciation, acknowledging the invaluable role they play in the success of SLJFC.

My son is thriving at SLJFC, he’s in safe hands with the coaches who are professional. Their approach is relaxed and all about fun. This is enabling my boy to learn the game, make decisions for himself and developing his footballing abilities.
Our experience with SLJFC has been fantastic for our 6 year old daughter. The coaches are incredibly positive and encouraging, creating a supportive environment for young players. It's a wonderful introduction to the world of football for kids!
SLJFC is phenomenal! Having known the coaches from our child's school, their dedication and coaching skills are simply amazing. The kids genuinely love their time with SLJFC, making it a fantastic experience for both players and parents.
